Buying safely: how buyer protection works
When you buy, you don't pay the seller but CARDLEAGUE. We hold the money until the card is with you. Only when you confirm receipt – or report nothing within 7 days after delivery – does the seller get paid. If something is wrong, you report a problem on the order page and the payout stays on hold until the case is resolved.
For this you pay a small contribution: 1% of the card value plus €0.30 per order, at most €9.90. Sellers must verify with ID and bank account before their first sale, and reviews only come from real buyers with a completed order.
Reading condition, grading and description correctly
Raw means ungraded: the seller describes the condition themselves (corners, edges, surface, centering). Graded cards sit in a sealed slab from PSA, BGS, SGC or CGC with a grade from 1 to 10 – and a certificate number you can check on the grading company's website.
Look closely at the photos: photos of the actual card are mandatory here, catalog images are not enough. On slabs the label should be fully legible. And if a card is numbered (for example 12/99), the number is usually on the front or back.
Recognising fair prices
Every listing page shows you how the price compares to the market value – the median of the last real sales of exactly this card in this condition. That way you see at a glance whether an offer is fair, cheap or ambitious. On many listings you can also propose a price; the seller accepts, declines or makes a counter-offer.
The card you want isn't available right now? Create a saved search. As soon as someone lists it, you get an e-mail – and collectors who own it learn anonymously that it is wanted.
Shipping from Germany and the EU
Sellers are based in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy and other EU countries. Within the EU there are no customs formalities. From €50.00 in value, tracked shipping is mandatory for the seller, from €150.00 insured shipping – so you are covered in case of loss.
At card shows and fairs it also works without shipping: exhibitors list their cards online beforehand, you reserve and pay securely and pick up at the table. Only once you have checked the card and given the pickup code is the purchase complete.
Which sports cards are worth it?
That depends on what you want: collecting for fun, completing a set or building value long term. Rookie cards of big players in high grades, numbered parallels from established products like Topps Chrome and Panini Prizm, on-card autographs and cards from limited runs tend to hold their value.

Can I buy cards from other EU countries?
Yes. Within the EU there are no customs duties. Shipping costs are stated in the listing; delivery time depends on the shipping method.
How do I know a seller is trustworthy?
All sellers are verified with ID and bank account. Look for reviews from real buyers, complete descriptions and own photos. And if in doubt, buyer protection covers you.
Can I propose a price?
If the seller allows offers, yes. They can accept, decline or counter. After acceptance the card is reserved for you for 24 hours.
